Francois Fiat and MV Yersin win 2015 Baccarat SuperYacht World Award
The 2015 Baccarat SuperYacht World Trophy has been presented to super yacht owner François Fiat aboard his new, stunning 76.6-metre Piriou MV Yersin at the Monaco Yacht Show. The award celebrates an incredible yacht that has been created for education, science and adventure, and is packed with innovative features that minimise the impact on the environment. The encouragement of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has been crucial to the development of this project, which has been designed to give back to the oceans that sustain us all.
The unique crystal Trophy, created in the tradition of perfection by the craftsmen at Baccarat, was presented to François Fiat and the team behind the yacht by SuperYacht World editor Paul Ashton and CEO of Baccarat Daniela Riccardi aboard Yersin in front of a gathering of owners and industry heads.
“The stewardship of the oceans is one of the most important issues facing us in the decades to come, and what François Fiat and Piriou have achieved with MV Yersin is an example to all owners about the value of thinking creatively about the challenges of running a 21st Century superyacht,” said Paul Ashton, editor of SuperYacht World.
“Baccarat is proud to award this trophy to François Fiat and Piriou as a tribute to their commitment to sustainability, exploration and education of future generations, values that we at Baccarat fully share,” said Daniela Riccardi, Baccarat CEO.
“Our true pride, over and above the technical challenges and the performance at sea of MV Yersin, is the confirmation of our successful understanding of Geneviève and Francois Fiat’s dream, and our capacity to translate that dream into reality,” said Pascal Piriou, chairman and CEO of Piriou.
